What is Team MIGHTY?

At Team Mighty our staff is focused on creating a football environment that goes beyond the pitch to teach valuable life lessons.  We take pride in our inclusive environment which focuses on both the player as an individual and as a member of a team. At TMS we view soccer as a teaching tool, not solely focused on a technical and tactical foundation, but on developing integral life skills our players can take with them beyond the field. Players learn what it means to be respectful, resilient, and accountable. Values that are built on a foundation of passion, commitment, and hard work.

The Program is dedicated to developing our youth into highly skilled and passionate players, incredible people and proud members of the TMS Family!

TEAM MIGHTY SOCCER is a Youth Football Program proudly based in Brampton and operating within the Greater Toronto Area.

TEAM MIGHTY SOCCER was founded in 2018 by Jemel Taylor.  As a player my common passion, work ethic and football experience led me to bring my experiences to local kids in my community.

Our programming is dedicated to teaching the most important fundamentals in football and is highly focused on developing individual technique, speed of thought and confidence.

Team Mighty Soccer is operated by Jemel Taylor together with our carefully selected staff and trainers, we provide an unmatched experience and opportunity for youth serious about taking their game to the next level with club affiliation with AIFC.

Team Mighty Development Academy FAQs

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND MIGHTY ELITE?
Our Soccer School offers a two per week supplementary Technique Training Centre, The Development program is a training program where the objective is to prepare players to potentially join our TMS or other competitive clubs/academy teams. This program focuses on developing the individual skills needed to be a competitive football player, and incorporates the unique TMS training methodology and principles.

WHO ARE THE COACHES?
Top notch experience is an important part of what we offer. TMS offers a staff that has over 30 years of combined experience. TMS has a unique staff of provincially, nationally and internationally qualified coaches with an unmatched level of experience. We are able to offer our professional experience and a unique curriculum. Our staff and management is continuously developing and focusing on learning and improving everyday.

WHAT IS THE RATIO COACH/PLAYER?
The maximum player to coach ratio is 12:1. However, often we organize sessions to offer a lot of individual attention.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE IN EACH GROUP?
Generally, a maximum of 12 players are grouped together per training group although often it is less than that. Age isn’t the deciding factor in how we group players in the Development Program. We group players as closely as possible based on age, but we always group players based on their individual skill level. We as a staff decide how we will organize the groups to optimize everyone’s personal development.

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THE TRAINING SESSIONS?The development objectives focus on individual skill fundamentals such as dribbling actions, passing and receiving, coordination and communication. Players will experience various game situations including a structured approach to learning the principles and phases of football; attacking, defending and transitions.

DO THEY PLAY GAMES AGAINST OTHER CLUBS/PROGRAM?
No, This program focuses on developing the individual skills needed to be a competitive football player, and incorporates the unique Team Mighty training methodology and principles.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?
During the Spring and Summer terms, TMS is outdoors and runs 60-75 min sessions.  However, during the indoor Fall and Winter terms, we offer 60-90 min sessions. Each session is well planned, effectively coordinated and efficient as possible.

HOW LONG ARE THE TERMS?
Each term is 14 sessions, with the program broken up into indoor and outdoor seasons. Indoor terms are the Fall/Winter season, and outdoor terms are the Spring/Summer season. Therefore, a full season is 70-80 Development sessions.  We never train over the long weekends in order to offer a break for players.  Rest is also an important part of development.

WHERE ARE THE TMS TRAINING SESSIONS HELD?
Currently, TMS Development Academy Training is based in Brampton.  Please visit our Team Mighty page to learn more about which facilities we operate our programming from.

WHAT IS THE UNIFORM?
Players who are new to TMS and do not already have a TMS Training Kit will be required to purchase one.

HOW CAN I JOIN THE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY?
